Buying and setting up your equipment:

Advice

Musical instruments such as drum kits are expensive items and need to be chosen carefully depending on your ability and budget. If you need any advice before purchasing, please email or telephone me and I will be happy to help if I can – I always enjoy talking about drums (and guitars if you like!)

If you cannot afford new equipment there is plenty available secondhand. I am happy to advise you on what to look for (and what to avoid!) I can also help you with questions about setting up or adjusting your kit.

Where to buy

Given the huge array of suppliers available on the internet, it is tempting to shop around online to find a bargain. However, if you are in the Lancaster area I would strongly advise a visit to Promenade Music in Morecambe. Mention my name; they will often match your internet prices. Even if they cannot match the price they will usually come very close, and any extra you pay is well worth it for peace of mind: their after-sales service is second to none.

Got your equipment?

Once you’ve got your equipment, you’re all ready to learn! And the beauty of having your own drum kit is that you can practise whenever you like.
